Answer: A version or alias on the full catalog.schema.model name
Unity Catalog model names follow catalog_name.schema_name.model_name, and a deployment references a version as models:/prod.ml_team.iris_model/1 or an alias as models:/prod.ml_team.iris_model@Champion, so the schema in the URI decides which team's model is picked. A bare name resolves against whatever catalog and schema the session defaults to, and a run ID or the latest experiment run points at a logged artifact that was never registered or approved.
